During development of the exhaust for the Nissan Titan, our engineers discovered quite a few interesting things. First, this truck likes back pressure at lower RPM’s. By developing a system that removes some of the choke points of the factory exhaust and opens up to a slightly larger pipe, we were able to gain around 15 rear wheel horse power. Many different exhaust configurations were tried during the development of the system but the final outcome was a 2.5" tube with mandrel bends and a more efficient, high performance muffler.

After the exhaust was completed, the next focus was on the exhaust manifolds. The factory exhaust manifolds on the Nissan Titan have a catalytic converter built in. This is very restrictive and has a tendency to fail. By removing the catalytic converters and designing a stainless steel long-tube header we were able to achieve gains between 25-30 rear wheel horsepower. After a few months we released the stainless steel, polished ceramic coated headers due to customer demand. This setup produced great gains and is still a very popular package for the 04-06 Titans.

In 2007 the 5.6 liter VK56 engine from Nissan got a slight make over. Along with the introduction of a variable valve timing cam setup and new computer system came a different way for measuring air fuel. In previous model years (04-06) Nissan monitored the A/F ratio using the front O2 sensors. In 2007 that configuration was changed to begin monitoring the a/f ratio from the rear O2 sensors after the secondary catalytic converters. CEL may be present with the installation of these headers. B-pipes are also available, and bolt in to the factory location of the factory secondary catalytic converters. They are a direct bolt in and require no cutting or welding. One of the great things about the B-pipes is that with just the B-pipes we have seen gains of 7 RWHP, also making this an effective upgrade for the 04-06 models as well.
