Performance Brake Rotors

Replacing your factory brake rotors with aftermarket high performance rotors will improve your braking ability and the styling of your vehicle. Factory brake rotors do not dissipate heat as well as high performing aftermarket rotors do.  There are many different options of brake rotor disc replacements from cross-drilled rotors, cross-drilled and slotted rotors, slotted rotors. Each configuration has its own benefits and purposes. As with all of our aftermarket performance products, the high performance brake rotors we offer are manufactured from the finest materials and machined on the best CNC equipment.

Slotted Rotors

Slotted rotors have become more popular over the years due to their increased durability and life expectancy. When pushed to the limit, a high performance slotted rotor is able to expand and contract with temperature change evenly around the entire rotor. Even though a drilled rotor runs cooler, the slotted rotor tends to last longer. This is partly due to the increased friction surface. The less material you have on the friction surface means you are requesting the remaining material to do more work which leads to increased wear. The slots will decrease dust build up by cleaning the brake pads.

Slotted Rotor Benefits:

  • Reduced Dust
  • Longest Lasting Rotor
  • Most Durable
  • Improved Pad Outgassing

Cross Drilled Rotors

The original high performance treatment for high performance brake rotor upgrades was simply drilling cooling holes into the rotor surface. This allows air to occupy the voids and cool the rotor thus reducing operating temperatures under hard driving conditions.  The machining process of cross drilled rotors is extremely sensitive and requires precision.  The holes need to be in the correct location and they also need to be finished correctly. When choosing a high performing cross drilled rotor you want to make sure it’s built by a reputable and experienced manufacturer such as STILLEN or DBA.

One side benefit of the drilled hole is the drivers’ increased initial bite.  The driver can feel the pads gripping the rotor surface better; this is due to the improved operating temperatures, and the edges of the holes grabbing the brake pad.

Cross Drilled Rotor Benefits:

  • Reduced Operating Temperature
  • Improved Bite
  • Best Performance Rotor
  • Great Styling
  • Improved Longevity
  • High Performance in Rain

Slotted and Cross Drilled Rotors

Slotted and cross drilled rotors allow gases to escape while braking. The drilled holes allow for cooling and great bite. The slotted patterns allows for outgassing and cleaning the brake pads surface. Aggressive high performance styling.

STILLEN's aftermarket high performance brake rotors are zinc plated for corrosion resistance. No need to worry about rusting. These are direct replacements for OEM rotors and no adjustments are required. Factory calipers can be used. We suggest using high performance brake pads with our performance brake rotors. They look great behind a custom wheel and can be painted by us to accentuate your cars style.

Slotted and Cross Drilled Rotor Benefits:

  • Reduced Operating Temperature
  • Improved Bite
  • Reduced Dust Accumulation
  • Reduced Noise
  • High Performance in Rain
  • High Performance Styling
