An underdrive pulley does exactly what the name implies. An underdrive pulley is smaller in diameter than the OEM crank pulley it is replacing. By going to a smaller pulley than factory the engine is able to work more efficiently and reduce the amount of energy (horsepower) required to spin the pulley, which transfers more of that power to your wheels. Underdrive pulleys are a great way to improve efficiency without requiring re-tuning or other performance parts. If you are planning on going with a supercharger system in the future we do not plan on using an underdrive pulley. In the case of a supercharger we recommend using a lightweight standard sized crank pulley.
