Radiators

The most important heat management component in any vehicle with a water-cooled engine is the radiator. This is the largest heat exchanger in a vehicle, and serves an essential role, especially for a performance application. Under hard driving or track conditions, an engine generates more heat. Coolant (an anti-freeze coolant mixture or distilled water) passes through and draws this heat away from the engine. It is then pumped through a radiator, where the heat is rejected to the atmosphere while the coolant returns to the engine. While the factory radiator does an adequate job under typical conditions, increasing the coolant capacity by way of a larger, aftermarket radiator will aid heat management under more demanding loads.
