STILLEN High Performance Clutch & Aluminum Flywheel Kit

STILLEN offers combination kits for the most popular high performance clutch upgrades, and combines them with a lightened billet aluminum flywheel for maximum performance.

STILLEN High Performance Clutch and Aluminum Flywheel Combo includes ACT Heavy Duty Pressure Plate and ACT Performance Organic Street Disc and STILLEN Lightweight Aluminum Flywheel.

ACT Heavy Duty Pressure Plates provide increased torque capacity, durability, and extended clutch life. What makes ACT Pressure Plates the highest standard in the industry? First, ACT manufacturing always begins with new units. ACT Pressure Plates are not rebuilt from worn out parts. Second, pressure is increased the right way. Altering the geometry alone is not enough.

Instead, ACT engineers a stronger diaphragm. ACT diaphragms are heat-treated using an exclusive 3-stage process and the release bearing contact area is hardened to reduce wear. Third, ACT designs the pressure and release travel of the unit to be in the optimum working range. Finally, ACT assures consistency and precision by using proven assembly procedures.

Every unit ACT produces is accurately balanced and tested. Most ACT pressure plates are also available in ductile iron, offering strength and safety for high RPM racing. ACT Street Discs are designed for smooth engagement, quiet operation and improved durability using only the best organic, spring center designs.

When a special ACT Performance Organic Street Disc is available, the suffix "SS" will appear. These discs use special steel backed performance linings designed to withstand high heat and abuse. Most of these "SS" discs are also modified for quicker shifting.

What is all the hype about different lining materials available? ACT still contends that nothing can beat a good quality organic disc for street use. Virtually all the premium sport car manufacturers use organic discs. Actual product may vary slightly from image.

In Addition, these billet aluminum flywheels are typically just over half the weight of the stock iron unit. With the reduced weight, less power is needed to overcome flywheel inertia. The result is a quicker revving, more responsive motor.

    I have a 2005 G35 coupe with 48k miles. I've had the car since new and have always babied it. The car is packed with Stillen parts; however, I have not done any upgrades in 2 years. Recently I bought this clutch/flywheel package and had my trusted Nissan mechanic to do the installation. The clutch is definitely heavier, and it engages earlier, but neither bothers me and took only a couple of days to get use it. The flywheel though, is AMAZING! The biggest impact is how much smoother the engine revs through the entire RPM range. There is less vibration everywhere, and it feels great. I've read blogs where aftermarket flywheel caused more vibrations. That is not the case with this one. Not only is it much smoother, the idle clicks are barely noticeable. In short, buy from a known company like Stillen and use a good mechanic. Skipping on either one could cause problems. In the past, I hated the vibration when reving my engine, not anymore!

    I bought the Stillen lightweight flywheel and paired it with a Z1 mild performance clutch kit. I got a fantastic performance gain from this installation. The engine revs much more freely, my rev-matching is a lot easier, it gains revs much faster particularly in the lower and mid range but also on top and it's very smooth all the way to 7,500. I would definitely recommend this flywheel, it was well worth the money if your going to change your clutch you'd be nuts not to add this flywheel . FYI- My G35 Coupe also has: Energy Suspension Bushings, Injen Intake, Skunk 2 spacer, DC Headers, Stillen Y Pipe (also a great product), NWP 75 Mil Throttle Body.

    An absolute must replacement for the stock 370Z manual shift flywheel and clutch assembly. Initial impression was something I have never experienced quite as dramatically over my past 48 years of performance driving. The stock flywheel is a sprung dual mass assembly which wears out at between 35K and 50K miles, it vibrates badly above 5500 RPM and the clutch assembly makes gear shifting an uncomfortable chore to achieve smoothly with all the attendant gear train clunking during shifts from 1st to 2nd gear etc. Fitting this kit immediately changes the whole character of the car, starting the engine is quicker, quieter and adds tremendous pickup to the engine RPM's when the throttle is blipped. Pulling away becomes smooth, progressive and easily managed, and now for the experience I have never witnessed before with changing to a lightened flywheel, the car feels like it has gained 15 HP, I know it hasn't, but the response over the whole rev range is so immediate that one actually has to be careful not to light the tires up when the engine passes 5500 RPM on full throttle in "3rd" gear!! Oh and the annoying engine vibration above 5500 has gone, everything is smooth right to the red line. At the Nissan dealership that fitted it for me, the GTR technician told me he has never seen such a positive performance increase from a 370z before, told me it was the best quality parts he has seen in the industry. Only down side is the increased gear chatter at idle and under load below 2000 RPM, however that just requires a slight change in driving style, no more starting in second gear, just let out the clutch and squeeze the throttle and you will be leaving rubber behind you smoothly without shock loading the rear end. Worth every penny, buy it now whatever the age of your car.

    I replaced stock clutch at 81000 miles now i have 181000 i put 100000 miles of hard driving No sign of slip or problems best clutch Oem or Aftermarket out there
