Cross Drilled & Slotted Rotors
Cross drilled and slotted rotors combine the best features of a slotted rotor and a cross drilled rotor. Fewer holes mean longer brake pad life with no penalty in the way of initial brake pad bite. The improved bite and cooling from the cross drilled pattern combined with the ventilation and pad out gassing offered by the slots offers the best of both worlds.
When you look through the wheel of a vehicle and you see the aggressive cross drilled slotted pattern, you know that driver is serious about performance! STILLEN's cross drilled and slotted rotors are engineered to bolt directly to your factory braking system and require no modifications. The average driver will not notice any excess wear or decrease in durability over a cross drilled or slotted rotor.
Features of STILLEN Cross Drilled & Slotted Rotors:
- Combines the benefits of cross-drilling and slotting for the best of both worlds.
- Fewer holes mean longer pad life with little penalty in the way of initial pad bite.
- Additional leading edges offer improved brake pad grip.
- Under hard use, cross drilled holes provide better cooling.
- Holes are radius-chamfered with special tooling, minimizing stress-risers for maximum resistance to heat and longer rotor life compared to lower-priced cross drilled and slotted rotor offerings.
- CAD software is used to design and test the optimum face pattern for full pad sweep, reduced hot spots and minimal grooving.
- Rotors arrive finished, machine-balanced and ready to install!
If you're into high performance driving or push your vehicle's limits on the track, then a cross drilled and slotted rotor is for you. About STILLEN Parts & Accessories
Steve Millen Sportparts, Inc. and STILLEN humbly started their race to the front of the pack in 1986. Starting with aftermarket mini-truck appearance packages, we quickly found ourselves fulfilling customer's requests to build products for other vehicles such as vans and full-sized trucks.
With that came performance parts, suspension pieces, and upgraded brake products such as big brake systems. Capitalizing on his racing career, and knowing what it took to make sports cars perform like no other, it was only natural for Steve Millen to branch out into the import car scene. Over two decades later, we offer a full array of products encompassing styling, performance, handling, and braking products for just about any car, truck, or SUV.
Cross Drilled & Slotted Sport Rotors
Jonathan Hallby Jonathan HallI purchased these rotors for my 2012 Infiniti M37 Sport since it seems many Infiniti owners have at some point experienced the poor performance and shaking of their stock rotors and pads. The stock rotors on my car were beginning to warp and when I was braking, the steering column and front wheels would shudder like crazy.
I looked up this problem online and noticed that I wasn't the only one this was happening with. When at my local Infiniti dealership, I asked about this and my service guy's top recommendation was Stillen rotors and pads.
I replaced the rotors and pads on the front and rear (drive wheels) and haven't been disappointed as once I installed them, the shuddering stopped and I had smooth braking. You need good brakes and rotors because if you like to drive fast in your car, you have to have good stopping power.
It's winter here in Utah now, but I'm sure that when the warm weather comes, the usefulness of the slots and drilled holes will be so much more helpful. The purpose is to clear away the brake dust and to cool the rotor, which heats up drastically while braking.
Stillen appears to make high quality products so I'm grateful for my Infiniti service guy's recommendation. When installing the rotors, the slots and drilled holes go top to bottom this way \ \ \ (like the picture above, on your drivers side) to the rear which seems to be the reverse of how most rotor manufacturers design their rotors. Each rotor is labelled L or R so you know which one goes where. Stillen designed them to be put on this way.
I got on the phone and talked with their customer support about this and they have wonderful customer support. They were fast, friendly and very helpful. Thank you for a wonderful experience! I'll certainly be purchasing more Stillen products in the future!12/31/1969
