Body styling components have been made from a variety of materials including fiberglass, carbon fiber and polyurethane. While typically less expensive, fiberglass pieces tend to be of lower quality, brittle and often prone to cracking. On the opposite end of the cost/quality spectrum, carbon fiber offers space age strength and gravity-defying light weight, but costs significantly more to manufacture, which is then passed on to the consumer in the form of higher prices. Polyurethane or urethane, a blend of plastic polymers, offers resilience, durability and a quality fit and finish at a reasonable cost. Most automotive manufacturers use polyurethane in the factory bumper covers and other components for these very reasons.
At STILLEN® we sculpt and manufacture our body styling parts right here at our corporate headquarters in Costa Mesa, California. STILLEN® body styling components enhance the vehicle body lines and can be painted to match the vehicle exterior. Unlike fiberglass and even some carbon fibers, STILLEN’s proprietary urethane formula offers superior longevity while flexing instead of cracking on impact. This is an especially desirable trait for lip spoilers and splitters that sustain impacts from road debris, curbs and parking blocks. STILLEN® urethane products are available raw so that you can have them painted to match your vehicle or prepainted flat black, ready to be installed. High quality 3M trim adhesive and screws facilitate an easy installation for most products.
